Listens for wing-beat signatures

The device continuously monitors ambient audio, separating mosquito wing-beat frequencies from background noise with 96.8% precision. It works in a real room — not a controlled lab.

02Identify

Determines species and sex in real time

Only mated females of certain species require a blood meal. ISARS identifies which species is present and whether it poses a risk, so the response is targeted and proportionate. Trained on 433,851 labelled samples.

03Respond

Emits a personalised acoustic signal

Each mosquito carries a unique fundamental frequency in its wing-beat. ISARS extracts that individual signature and emits a precision acoustic output targeting Johnston's Organ — the mosquito's primary sensory structure — to disrupt its flight behaviour.

04Adapt

Continuously refines every 250 ms

The device monitors whether its signal is working and adjusts on the next timestep. The signal never repeats — so no mosquito can ever habituate to it. No resistance pathway exists for an acoustic output that changes every quarter-second.
